Alan Sheyman, MD

About Dr. Sheyman

Dr. Alan Sheyman is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and surgery of the Retina. Dr. Sheyman believes in an individualized approach to what is often vision threatening chronic disease and leaves no stone unturned to find a favorable outcome for his patients.

An honors graduate of the University of Michigan and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai in New York City, followed by a highly prestigious retinal fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Dr. Sheyman has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters on the subject of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular pucker, and unusual diseases of the retina. In addition, Dr. Sheyman trains doctors at Queens Hospital Center and at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.

When not practicing medicine Dr. Sheyman enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
